  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon allspice
  • ¼ cup butter (softened)
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • ⅓ cup + 1 tablespoon milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 34 tablespoons heavy whipping cream (cold)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and grease three 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. For the cheesecake layer: Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add flour, vanilla, cinnamon, heavy cream, and eggs; mix well. Divide batter into two pans and bake until set.
  3. For spice cake: Whisk dry ingredients together. Cream butter and sugar; add oil, eggs, and milk. Fold in dry ingredients and pour into the remaining pan. Bake until a toothpick comes out clean.
