  • 1 lb beef strips (sirloin or ribeye)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ginger, garlic, and vegetable oil. Marinate beef strips for 10–15 minutes.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat; sauté onions until soft and caramelized. Set aside.
  3. Increase heat to high; add vegetable oil and sear marinated beef for 2–3 minutes until browned.
  4. Combine hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and cornstarch in a small bowl; pour over beef in the skillet and simmer until thickened.
