  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter or ghee
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken by mixing Greek yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, ground spices, and salt in a bowl. Coat the chicken well and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Heat oil and butter in a cast iron skillet over medium heat. Sauté chopped onions until golden brown, then add minced garlic and grated ginger.
  3. Add the remaining ground spices and cook briefly before adding tomato paste and crushed tomatoes.
  4. Introduce the marinated chicken to the sauce and cook until fully cooked through (15–20 minutes).
  5. Stir in coconut milk until combined and adjust seasoning as needed.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
