  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup hot coffee
  • 2 cups shredded phyllo dough (kataifi)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup pistachio cream
  • 4 oz milk or semi-sweet chocolate bar
  • ½ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add egg, vanilla extract, milk, and vegetable oil; mix until smooth.
  4. Gradually stir in hot coffee to create a batter.
  5. Pour into the prepared pan and bake for about 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. For the pistachio filling, sauté shredded phyllo dough with butter until golden brown; mix with pistachio cream.
  7. For the chocolate layer, melt chopped chocolate with heavy cream in the microwave and whisk until smooth.
  8. Once the cake has cooled slightly, layer with pistachio filling and drizzle with chocolate sauce before serving.
