  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 11/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 large apple (peeled, cored, and chopped into small pieces)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8.5 x 4.5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  3. Beat softened butter with granulated sugar and vanilla until smooth; incorporate eggs one at a time.
  4. Alternately mix in the dry ingredients and milk until combined.
  5. In another bowl, mix chopped apples with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Pour half the batter into the pan, layer with half the apple mixture, swirl gently. Repeat with remaining batter and apple mixture.
  7. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes until done; cool before glazing.
