  • 3 cups powdered sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1–3 tablespoons milk
  • green food coloring
  • black food coloring (optional)
  • Round green sprinkles
  • Halloween sprinkles
  • Candy eyeballs
  • Pretzel sticks

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease three mini muffin pans.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the cake mix, eggs, canola oil, and black food coloring (if using) until fully combined.
  3. Scoop about 1/2 tablespoon of dough into each mini muffin pan. Flatten each scoop slightly with your fingers to create a base.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are set. Remove from the oven and press an indentation into each warm cookie using the back of a measuring spoon. Allow them to cool completely in the pans.
  5. While your cookie cups are cooling, prepare the buttercream. In a medium bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt while beating until smooth. Add milk one tablespoon at a time until you reach a pipeable consistency. Mix in green food coloring until you achieve your desired shade.
  6. Once cooled, pipe the green buttercream into each cookie cup until they resemble bubbling potions.
  7. Decorate with round green sprinkles, candy eyeballs, and Halloween-themed sprinkles for that festive touch. Break pretzel sticks in half and insert one into each cookie cup as a stir stick.
