  • 1 cup sugar (200 g)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (133 g)
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped apple pieces (100 g)
  • ½ cup toasted pecan pieces (53 g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Toast the pecan pieces in a small pan over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Peel, core, and chop the apples into small chunks.
  4. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and mix until combined.
  5. Stir in the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until just mixed.
  6. Fold in the chopped apples and toasted pecans.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased or parchment-lined 8×8 baking dish and bake for 30-45 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow cooling for about 15 minutes before slicing into squares.
